Patricia M. Raiano, 70, of Whitesboro, died on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.

Born in Utica on November 23, 1949, Patricia was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Hankinson Renwick. Patricia attended Utica schools, graduating from Utica Free Academy. On April 26, 1969, Patricia married Alexander T. Raiano, Jr. in Utica. Patricia worked at New York Telephone and later worked for Family Services. The role she most valued was that of wife, mother and grandmother. She found great joy in spending time with her children and her grandchildren.

Patricia was a loving person and demonstrated her generosity in many ways, especially through her love of baking. Sharing her Christmas cookies with friends and family was something she looked forward to every year. She treasured every family occasion and loved nothing more than hosting Sunday dinners at her home. Her grandchildren were delighted with the cakes she created for them on their birthdays. Patricia took pleasure in attending her grandchildren’s performances and athletic events. She was also an avid fan of UC Men’s Hockey.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, Alexander T. Raiano, Jr. of Whitesboro with whom she enjoyed an extraordinary partnership. She is also survived by her children: Shelly Northrup and her husband, Christopher; Lori North and her husband, Robert; and Alexander Raiano III and his wife Shelly, all of New Hartford; grandchildren, Samuel, Abigail and Ella Northrup, Benjamin and Grace North and Alexander and Nicholas Raiano.

Her children and their spouses frequently demonstrated their devotion to Patricia and were always there to offer help and support. She was proud to know that her commitment to family carried forward to the next generation.

The family would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to the MVHS Dialysis Center for all the care and encouragement they gave Patricia over the past few years.
